Welcome to the EU Infopoint!

Your new place for information on the EU!

The EU Infopoint aims to increase public knowledge, awareness and understanding of the European Union, its values, policies and programmes as well as the EU Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community. The EU Infopoint is a project funded by the European Union under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community with the aim to bring the Turkish Cypriot community closer to the EU.
Official Opening of the EU Infopoint
The EU Infopoint officially opened its doors on 30 April 2015 with the participation of Walter Deffaa, Director General for Regional and Urban Policy, European Commission. With the opening of the Infopoint, the Turkish Cypriot community now has the opportunity to access more information about the EU, its policies, how it works and the common values for all EU citizens. The EU Infopoint is open to the public from 10am - 6pm on weekdays and 10am - 4pm on Saturdays. People can reach the EU Infopoint also by calling 228 2577 or emailing [email protected]

Gender Equality & Social Media Event
The EU Infopoint in cooperation with the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus and the European Parliament Information Office in Cyprus organised a Gender Equality & Social Media event on 26 May at the EU Infopoint. 
Film Screening about Freedom of Movement
Europe Day celebrations continued with a film screening at the EU Infopoint on 20 May in cooperation with Goethe-Institut Cyprus. The film "Almanya" was followed by a discussion about freedom of movement with EU expert and lawyer Kristine Dupate from Latvia who was invited to share her expertise about the EU policy on freedom of movement.
Energy Efficiency Panel
An energy efficiency panel targeting SMEs was held on 21 April at the EU Infopoint. The event brought together energy efficiency experts, energy auditors and SMEs to examine and discuss how energy efficiency could improve competitiveness and support sustainable economic development.
"Walk for Water, Walk for Life" Event
World Water Day was celebrated on 22 March with the “Walk for Water, Walk for Life” event organised by EU Infopoint. The participants had the opportunity to get information from experts about the EU's water and energy efficiency policies and how they should be implemented for the best use of resources.
Children's Stortytelling Event
On 23 May, the EU Infopoint held a children's storytelling event on the establishment story of the European Union! Children had the chance to learn about the history of the European Union, and how Europe Day celebrates peace and unity across Europe each year.
Europe Day Event
Europe Day celebrations began on 13 May with the first event which included the launch of the Children's Art & Photography competition on the theme of the environment.
Flying Umbrella Environmental Performance
The EU Infopoint organised its first children’s event on 18 April to raise awareness about protecting the environment. The children’s play “Flying Umbrella” was performed by Nicosia Art Theatre group.
Women and Leadership Panel
The EU Infopoint organised its first event on 19 March: a panel on Women and Leadership, held at Merit Hotel to raise awareness about women in leadership positions and to tackle the issue of why women are still underrepresented in leadership positions across Europe.
