The Nicosia Friendship Cup 2017, supported by the European Commission, took place on 2-3 June. Four Cypriot and international amateur football teams, CVAR, Duzkaya, Finland United, Cyprus International, participated in the tournament, which was organised by the EU Infopoint. After the introduction meeting on 2 June at the Home for Cooperation, the first day matches took place at the Yusuf Kaptan football pitch. The remaining matches took place the following day at the Orfeas pitch. The tournament was completed with an award ceremony on the evening of 3 June. The Finnish Ambassador H.E. Timo Heino presented the winners’ trophy to the CVAR team, as well as participation trophies to the other teams.
