The European Commission in close partnership with UNDP in Cyprus has delivered additional equipment and supplies

The European Commission, in close partnership with UNDP in Cyprus, has delivered additional equipment and supplies to the Turkish Cypriot Union of local communities to contribute to Turkish Cypriot community’s fight against COVID-19.

Today, on 30 July, second part of the personal protective equipment worth of approximately EUR 80,000 and financed by the EU Aid Programme, has successfully arrived. The personal protective equipment provided in two batches includes 12,500 disposable surgical masks, 4,500 bottles of hand sanitizer alcohol, 170 pairs of rubber boots, 340 pairs of heavy-duty boots, 11,000 pieces of gloves, 3,400 pieces of heavy-duty gloves, 288 protective goggles and 50 re-usable aprons. With the provision of this personal protective equipment, the EU support will be extended beyond the health sector to the local communities, improving hygiene and contributing to prevention of possible virus propagation.
