Telling the story of the European Union for Children

Europe Day celebrations continued at the EU Infopoint with a children’s storytelling session on “The Story of the European Union” planned for Saturday 23 May from 11:00 to 13:00 at the EU Infopoint premises. The event was open for all children aged 6 to 12 years old and it covered the story of the European Union, its institutions and what the EU does.

With this event, the EU Infopoint aimed to raise children’s awareness about the history of the European Union, why Europe Day (9 May) is celebrated and the fact that Europe Day is actually the celebration of peace and unity in Europe. The storytelling session had visually interesting presentations and animations to inform children and encourage them to ask questions. 

The storytelling session also aimed to raise awareness about the values of the European Union including respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.This fun activity also included facepainting and refreshments for participants.
