Europe Day 2019 Photo Competition

DEADLINE IS 31 October 2019!

Europe Day held on 9 May every year celebrates peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historical "Schuman Declaration". At a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman, the then French foreign minister, set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would make war between Europe's nations unthinkable.

On the occasion of Europe Day, all high school students are invited to participate in the “My Favourite EU Project” themed Photo Competition organised as part of Europe Day 2019 Celebrations. The competition encourages young people to discover EU-supported projects near them and look at how these projects contribute to their daily lives.   EU support contributes to communities by raising awareness on EU values such as human rights, equality, diversity, freedom, and democracy through the support to civil society. In addition to this, the EU provides support to different sectors including private sector, agriculture, environment, infrastructure, schools, and cultural heritage.
