EU Infopoint Film Screening and Debate on Freedom of Movement.

As part of the Europe Day celebrations, the EU Infopoint is organising a film screening and debate on the free movement of people in Europe with the participation of European speaker Kristine Dupate on 20th of May, from 19:00 to 21:00 at  the EU Infopoint premises.

As the freedom of movement is one of the benefits the European Union offers to its members, on this Europe Day celebration event, the topic will be addressed starting with the screening of the film “Almanya” in collaboration with Goethe Institut. This will be followed by a presention with European guest speaker Kristine Dupate, who will discuss the policies and values underlying freedom of movement and answer questions from the participants.

Freedom of movement allows citizens of the European Union (EU) to move to, live in, and in certain circumstances access the welfare system of the EU country to which they have moved. Freedom of movement is one of the founding principles of the EU. It is designed to support the economies of EU countries by providing a mobile work force.

Europe Day celebrations will culminate on the 13th of June with a large scale outdoor event at Selimiye Square involving EU Embassy representatives and NGOs  who will provide information about EU member states and on projects funded for environmental projects with financial support of the European Commission.
