EU Anti-Trafficking Panel

The European Commission marked EU Anti-Trafficking Day 2015 with a panel organised by the EU Infopoint. The panel took place on the Friday, 30 October at the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce. The topics included human trafficking, trafficking victims and factors that lead to human trafficking, the EU Policy on human trafficking and measures in the Turkish Cypriot community.

The aim was to raise awareness on trafficking in human beings and increase the exchange of information, knowledge and best practices amongst the different actors working in this field with participation of stakeholders and an EU expert. The panel focused on sex exploitation and forced labour in Europe and the Turkish Cypriot community.

In parallel, the EU Infopoint organised a campaign to increase knowledge and awareness on human trafficking, where information regarding human trafficking and the situation in the EU will be highlighted.
