About the Scholarship

In line with the objective of bringing the Turkish Cypriot community closer to the European Union (EU), the European Commission will award scholarship grants to Turkish Cypriot students and teachers in order to offer them additional educational opportunities by:

1) raising their knowledge and/or increasing their skills in a specific field

2) Offering the experience of studying and living in another EU Member State.

Scholarships will be awarded for studying, conducting research or follow a training course in a university or equivalent institution of higher education in another EU Member State.

About Upcoming Call

Please be informed that the European Commission is still in the planning phase of the new Scholarships Call for proposals under the EU Scholarships Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community. We will provide information on the new Call for proposals as soon as it becomes available.

Please be advised that preparation for studies abroad should start well before the academic year starts. Furthermore please be informed, that should you apply for a scholarship under the EU Scholarships Programme, you will be requested to submit acceptance letters from universities. It may take several months to obtain such a letter, therefore it is highly recommended to contact universities in due course.

Since the academic year 2007-2008, hundreds of Turkish Cypriot teachers and students benefitted from the Scholarship Programme and contributed to their future carriers. They experienced living in different countries and cultures.
