“United in Diversity” Poster Competition Launched!

The European Commission launched a poster competition targeting secondary and high school students for Europe Day 2017. The European Commission, together with the Education Department, invites young people to participate in a poster competition on the theme of “United in Diversity,” the motto of the European Union. The launch of the competition took place on Wednesday, 19 April 2017 from 11:30 – 12:30 at the EU Infopoint. Interested individuals may submit their posters until Tuesday, 16 May 2017 at 17:00.  The competition is open to the following categories:   Category 1: Secondary school students, and Category 2: High school students.

"United in Diversity", the motto of the European Union, first came into use in 2000. It signifies how Europeans have come together, in the form of the EU, to work for peace and prosperity, while at the same time being enriched by the continents many different cultures, traditions and languages.

The competition prize ceremony will take place on the day of Europe Day Celebrations, Saturday, 20 May 2017 in Nicosia at Selimiye Square. First, second and third winners will be awarded a prize. The prizes are: Category 1: 1st Prize - Bicycle, 2nd Prize - Tablet, 3rd Prize - Art Set; Category 2: 1st Prize – Notebook, 2nd Prize – Tablet, 3rd Prize – Art Set.
